“Own only what you can always carry with you: know languages, know countries, know people. Let your memory be your travel bag.”
Who are you? I’m Sarah. No fancy nicknames around these parts I’m afraid.
What do you do? I’m a travel consultant and part-time copywriter currently based in Manchester, UK. I live with my fiance and travel companion, Tom – you’ll probably hear a lot about him here too – and we’ve been in love with the city since we arrived here mostly by accident in 2014.
Outside of work you’ll usually find me exploring new coffee shops in the city with my nose buried deep in a book, at a gig or banging on about how much I love Manchester to anyone who will listen. I’m also a big fan of languages, having studied German at university, living with a French and Spanish teacher and dedicating far too much of my life to Duolingo.
Why MOON + FOREST? I originally started off as a lifestyle blogger way back in 2012 as an antidote to post-graduation boredom. Gradually, as my love of travel grew I decided to dedicate this space to sharing my passion for seeing the world and – most importantly – how to do it without a trust fund. I believe that everyone should have access to travel, even if they do have a tight budget and restrictive working hours. You don’t have to save for years and quit your job to travel the world and I hope I can show you how to do that. Most recently I’ve decided to introduce another passion of mine – veganism. Sadly there’s no meaning behind the name, I just liked the sound of it.
How long have you been vegan? Since summer 2016. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made!
What’s the best place you’ve ever visited? Without even pausing to consider – Ecuador! It’s such a diverse and beautiful country and some of my greatest travel memories were made there. I can’t wait to go back and explore the Galapagos Islands next time.
Where’s next? Wroclaw, Poland
Can we work together? Of course! For any blog or business queries please email me – email@example.com
